Abolition of acceptance of personal checks from January 1, 2026

The Republic of Cyprus, through the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry, announced that the acceptance of personal checks will be abolished from January 1, 2026.

This change affects all entities and individuals involved in financial transactions that previously accepted personal checks.
