The European Banking Authority (EBA) is an independent EU authority responsible for safeguarding the integrity and stability of the EU banking sector.

To support financial stability, the EBA develops harmonised rules for financial institutions, promotes convergence of supervisory practices, and monitors the impact of financial innovation and sustainable finance transition.

The EBA’s role includes monitoring and analyzing risks and vulnerabilities relevant to banks and investment firms, facilitating information sharing through supervisory reporting and data disclosure, and engaging with stakeholders via publications, announcements, and external events.
