The Data Point Model Alliance, a collaboration between the European Banking Authority (EBA), European Central Bank (ECB), and European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA), has launched a two-month public consultation on improvements to their DPM metamodel. The consultation aims to enhance the support for statistical and supervisory reporting across the EU.

The new version, DPM 2.1, introduces support for integrated European reporting across regulatory frameworks, building on the structured, machine-readable approach to regulatory metadata. Key features include enhanced metadata versioning and extension of the metamodel to host logical data models. Additionally, the Alliance published naming conventions to promote consistency across reporting frameworks, supporting effective use of the common data dictionary.

The consultation is open until September 30, 2026. Responses can be submitted via the DPM 2.1 public consultation link. All contributions will be published after the consultation closes unless otherwise requested.

Background: The DPM, developed by the EBA and EIOPA, is a proven data dictionary used in banking, insurance, and pensions reporting in the EU. The latest version, DPM Standard 2.0, was published in June 2023. The DPM Alliance was established in March 2024 to extend DPM to ECB reporting and jointly govern the standard, with the SRB participating as an observer.
