OEB emphasizes collective responsibility for fire prevention in industrial areas

The Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB) has issued a communiqué following information from the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry dated July 17, 2026, regarding fire prevention in industrial areas. OEB calls on businesses to carefully implement the instructions provided by the competent authority.

OEB supports the Ministry’s efforts to prevent and contain fires and highlights that the protection of industrial areas is a collective responsibility of tenants and the lessor authority. Achieving this goal requires close cooperation, coordination, and timely responses from all involved parties.

Fire prevention is essential for protecting human life, worker safety, business premises, nearby residents, and the environment. It also helps ensure business continuity and prevent significant economic and social impacts.

OEB urges businesses to inform staff properly, assess their preparedness, and ensure internal emergency procedures are current and known to employees. It is also crucial to immediately notify authorities of any changes in facilities, activities, or uses of premises that may increase fire risk.
