Abolition of acceptance of personal checks from January 1, 2026

The Republic of Cyprus, through the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry, has announced the abolition of the acceptance of personal checks effective from January 1, 2026.

This measure is issued by the Department of Registrar of Companies and Intellectual Property and aims to modernize payment methods and enhance financial security.
