The Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB) informs its members that the Department of Labor Inspection of the Ministry of Labor and Social Insurance will conduct a targeted inspection campaign on construction sites during March, June, August, and September 2026.
The campaign emphasizes the prevention of falls from heights and the implementation of protection measures, as well as compliance with safety and health legislation related to heat stress.
The aim is to enhance the prevention and reduction of workplace accidents, occupational diseases, and dangerous incidents in the construction sector.
Special focus will be on enforcing compliance with Decrees on Safety and Health at Work, including the Code of Practice for Worker Heat Stress (K.A.P. 291/2014, K.D.P. 206/2020, P.D.A. 231/2023) and the Occupational Safety and Health Regulations for Minimum Standards at Temporary or Mobile Construction Sites (P.D.P. 410/2015).
During inspections, the following will be checked:
An annex with the control points issued by the Department of Labor Inspection is attached.
Members involved in construction activities are encouraged to perform timely compliance checks and ensure full implementation of the measures.
