The European Banking Authority (EBA) has launched four public consultations on proposed rules to further strengthen depositor protection, preserve financial stability, and harmonise depositor protection standards across the EU under the revised Deposit Guarantee Schemes Directive (DGSD3).

The consultations seek feedback on:

  • ITS on information exchange between credit institutions, Deposit Guarantee Schemes (DGSs), and authorities
  • Regulatory Technical Standards (RTS) on client funds protection standards
  • Guidelines (GL) on DGSs’ investment of collected funds

The consultation period runs until 23 October 2026. Comments can be submitted via the respective web pages, and all contributions will be published unless confidentiality is requested.

A public hearing will be held on 24 September from 10:00 to 13:00 CEST. Registration closes on 21 September 2026 at 12:00 CEST.
