The European Banking Authority (EBA) announced the launch of its Pillar 3 data hub, marking the first time prudential information from all EEA institutions is publicly accessible via a single, harmonised digital platform.

The hub discloses data submitted by large and other institutions starting from 26 January, improving the availability, usability, and comparability of prudential information across the European Union. This initiative aims to boost transparency, support market discipline, and strengthen the resilience of the European financial system.

With the first wave of institutions onboarded, Pillar 3 reports can now be submitted to the EBA platform for publication. Users can access official data and explore it through an intuitive visualization tool that allows comparisons across institutions, reference dates, and other dimensions. Bulk data downloads are also available for detailed analysis. The full data set for the first three reference dates—June, September, and December 2025—is expected to be available by June 2026.

The launch follows a successful testing phase with a sample of institutions. From June 2026 onwards, institutions are expected to submit Pillar 3 reports already published on their websites for 2025 reference dates, in line with transitional arrangements under the final draft ITS. This period allows institutions to familiarize themselves with the platform before the December 2025 report submissions.

A comprehensive user guide covering all features of the Pillar 3 data hub was published on 23 January 2026.

The legal basis for the hub is the new Banking Package (CRR3/CRD6), which implements the latest Basel III reforms in the EU. The EBA’s implementation plan for mandates under this package is available on the Pillar 3 data hub webpage. The EBA plans to introduce a dynamic dashboard of key indicators in the visualization tool, evolving over time based on industry feedback and emerging needs.
