ECB President praises François Villeroy de Galhau’s service and new role

Christine Lagarde, President of the European Central Bank, expressed her respect for François Villeroy de Galhau’s decision to step down as Governor of the Banque de France after 11 years of service. She highlighted his contributions to the Governing Council, noting his realism, European convictions, and team-oriented approach.

She also mentioned his new role as President of the Fondation des Apprentis d’Auteuil, where he will focus on supporting vulnerable young people and families through educational, social, and professional training programs.

Lagarde stated that François will remain a friend of the ECB and wished him success in his new mission.
