The Federation of Employers and Industrialists (OEB) announces that the Department of Labor Inspection (TEE), responsible for occupational safety and health, is implementing an online awareness campaign directed at all elevator owners.
Over the next two weeks, videos and static graphics will be displayed on YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. Additionally, the campaign will be featured on RIK TV as part of Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
The campaign emphasizes that elevator control and maintenance are separate obligations. Elevator inspections are conducted solely by authorized Elevator Auditors approved by the Director of TEE. Maintenance is performed exclusively by approved Elevator Maintainers authorized by the Director of the Technical Chamber of Greece.
An active telephone connection with the Maintainer is crucial for immediate assistance in case of entrapment. Elevator extrications must be carried out by Maintainers, who are required to respond within one hour of receiving a call from a trapped individual.
All prepaid SIM and/or eSIM cards used in elevators must be identified, with holder identification completed by November 10, 2025. Non-compliance will result in automatic deactivation of these services without further notice.
