Invitation to an information day on green transition and consumer obligations

The Federation of Employers and Industrialists (OEB), in collaboration with the Consumer Protection Service of the Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry, invites you to an information day titled “Green transition and consumer: The new European legislative framework and the obligations of businesses”.

The event will take place on June 11, 2026, from 09:00 to 11:00, at the OEB headquarters, with an option for online participation.

The conference will cover the following topics:

  • The current consumer protection legislative framework, focusing on Law 112(I)/2021 and provisions on unfair commercial practices.
  • The new European legislative framework, especially Directive (EU) 2024/825 on empowering consumers in the green transition.
  • Environmental (“green”) claims and their assessment under unfair commercial practices legislation, including greenwashing cases.
  • Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1960 on legal and commercial guarantees of product durability.
  • The duties and powers of the Consumer Protection Authority to enforce relevant legislation.
  • The bill “The Determination of Ecodesign Requirements for Sustainable Products Law of 2026”, aligning with Regulation (EU) 2024/1781 on ecodesign requirements for sustainable products.
  • The right to repair products and related business obligations.
