Limassol Mayor discusses urban development and cooperation with Paphos OEB Committee

A meeting was recently held between the Limassol-Paphos OEB Committee, chaired by Mr. Christos Michaelides, and the Mayor of Limassol, Mr. Yiannis Armeftis. The purpose was to strengthen dialogue and cooperation between the Municipality and the local business community.

During the meeting, Mr. Armeftis presented the Limassol Municipality’s strategic plan for 2025-2035, which includes development initiatives aimed at sustainable urban growth, improving citizens’ quality of life, and enhancing Limassol’s competitiveness as a business and investment hub. The Mayor emphasized the vital role of private initiative and entrepreneurship in achieving these goals, highlighting the importance of private sector investments.

He also stressed the need to strengthen synergies between the public and private sectors and to create a stable, business-friendly environment. The Mayor announced that specialized committees, including the Development Committee and Climate Change Committee, have been established to coordinate actions more effectively. The participation of OEB representatives in these committees is encouraged, recognizing the value of organized business contributions.

On behalf of OEB, the President and the Chairman of the Limassol-Paphos Committee expressed gratitude for the meeting and confirmed OEB’s intention to participate actively in these committees. They also emphasized the importance of institutionalized and regular communication between the Municipality and OEB.

The meeting took place in a positive atmosphere, with a shared commitment to further strengthen cooperation for mutual benefit.
